Don’t put links in between javascript tags like hover menus, collapsable menus etc. They are very attractive to see but control your temptation over using them. If you see the code the links are stored in .js file (javascript file) and are not crawlable by search engines.

See the image of the hover menu. The code in the second image has no links … only .js files. These .js files contain actual links. These are not reachable by search engines.
Tip: If you want javascript menus on your site, make sure you put up a sitemap for search engines to crawl.
If a page is connected from a keyword, the search engines think that keyword is important for that page. Search engines can not read text in images, so avoid image links. I am not talking about ‘Order now’ buttons. I am talking about your product pages linking from other pages of your site.
Avoid Anchor text like ‘Click here’ or ‘More information’. Try to use a keyword as your anchor text.
Example:
(CORRECT WAY)
Click Tracking and ROI Tracking script.
(TRY TO AVOID)
List all of your product links and other important pages on your sitemap. People often check your sitemap to see what they are looking for is there or not. Structure the sitemap in a hierarchical way so it is easy to pick a page from that list.
See an example here:

Use consistent menu on all of your web pages. So it is easy to follow the products/important links you have and checkout them. Seperate links into -
* Products (list of products under this heading)
* Support (list of methods to contact you)
* Order (list of links like cart, member login, FAQ etc)
Font: I have seen many sites with dark background and dark color font. It is very difficult to read. Use white background or dark background with light color font for good visibility.
Type of menu bar: Whether you use left or right or top menu bars, use them consistently on your site.

The above is Wordpress.org site with simple and consistent menubar on their hundreds of pages.
Make sure all pages are two clicks away from each other. This makes easy for the surfer to go through your web site links and reach your product pages.

Use bread crumb navigation so, any page can be reached easily. There are certain javascript code or simple href links can do this bread crumb navigation.
