Email marketing Tip. Subscribers clicking on Unsubscription link?

According to ftc.gov, you need to keep unsubscription link in every out going email in your email marketing. The subscriber who don’t want to stay in the list clicks on the link to remove themselves from your list. This is also called ‘Permission based email marketing’.

Don’t keep guessing about why your subscriber is leaving your list:

Most email marketers complain about the unsubscription rate of their list(s). They wonder why this person was unsubscribed inspite of good information he is receiving … Nobody can tell the reason why a subscriber has unsubscribed. So stop guessing and keep a form (mostly a small textarea) on the unsubscription page. So in that textarea your subscriber enters why he is leaving yur list. These comments are useful for you to improve your list marketing. Ofcourse, your software should allow you to get this information from the subscriber.

Don’t let them go empty handed:

On unsubscription page give them a gift and say thank you for staying on your list all these days. It won’t hurt to say thank you. Right?

Keep links like:
* download link to a free report
* irressistable discount code on your product
* free access to your membership area
* free software

All these are to make your subscriber to stay in your present or new list as a subscriber or member.

Affiliate commission theft – Affiliates, There goes Your Affiliate Commission.

Recently many vendors are following a method that steals the affiliate commission from their affiliates. I think some of them are doing this unknowingly …

They offer an affiliate program (inhouse or hosted one). We join and get the affiliate link. This affiliate link only credits the sale if the buyer buys through Paypal or whatever their primary payment processor is.

Here comes the tricky part … On order page, they will add another payment processor, the sale which don’t credit the affiliate.

Example: I got affiliate links where main payment processor is Paypal. On order page vendor says – ‘You can buy through Regnow.com here.’. What is this? So if buyer I sent to his site buys using Regnow.com link, I don’t get the affiliate commission.

See the example below:

Vendor is offering affiliate program through Commission junction and Clickbank. Point is I can send the visitor ONLY through either one of the links. So what if the visitor buys different link if I send him through Clickbank link?

On the order page this same vendor is offering Clickbank link and Money order option. So there is no way the vendor can know that I sent the visitor to his site.

So what I did was, I spend sometime on my site and I even updated some of my affiliate links to links who have one Payment processor. When I promote them, I’d like to get paid. What do you say?

Take time and check the prder pages of the vendors. I really don’t know they wantedly doing that or unknowingly stealing their affiliate commisions etc, but be careful to promote such programs.
