| | Peekaboo is a simple but very useful directory unmasker for people who require "secret access" to a visual link enabled listing of a particular directory on their server. It also serves as an excellent method of accessing your cgi-bin directory from the web, especially if it's 403 Forbidden. Handy if you are a programmer whois fedup with browsing their ftp and entering script or file locations manually in your browser! Also useful for general purposes because if you rename the script to "index.cgi" for general access most servers will recognise this as the common placeholder and open it automatically. There are currently two versions of this script available "Standard" and "Pro". The Standard version is reccomended for general use and convenience purposes with a basic template set, whilst the Pro version is better suited for more security minded individuals as it features password protection and optional ip logging of all successful logins. Pro users also have the ability to choose the popup target location, easily edit the template style to make it more easily read based on their own custom requirements and/or to simply make it look far more attractive.

| | This project implements an MD5-based encryption scheme on both client and server machines to allow encrypted password protection for web-based Perl/CGI applications. Although there are many free Perl/CGI application for password protection, only a few use MD5 on the server-side, but the password still travels over the internet as plain text. All server-side only schemes (like .htaccess password protection) are completely open to packet-sniffing. With this scheme, the browser JavaScript encrypts the password on the client's machine, and session tracking allows only one response per session ID, making simple packet-sniffing and session replaying much more difficult.

| | Private Eye monitors every user that enters your members area. Private Eye logs users looking for duplicate surfers using the same username. The log files flush themselves periodically determined by a time frame you set. This prevents users that come back at a later time that day from inadvertently being determined to be a different user. The script can also tell if the same user has returned with a different IP number due to a loss in their internet connection. This will keep you from running off legitimate customers. The script uses two environmental variables to define whether or not it is actually a different user unlike other scripts that just log the users IP number. This solves the problem other similar programs have with IP sharing. If more users are trying to get into your members area than you have set the script up to allow, the user is blacklisted for a predetermined time of your choosing. Then any subsequent users trying to use that username will be sent to a URL of your choosing so that you may turn that bad traffic into good. The script emails you with the bad user info so that you may delete that user from your database whenever you are tired of intercepting the traffic unlike other scripts that delete the user from your password database sometimes when the user should have not been deleted in the first place.

In admin you can just type in the name of a directory that you would like to set .htaccess on and the program creates it on your server inside your html or htdocs directory, or whatever is your html root directory and places a .htaccess and .htpasswd file in it.

| | Securitron is a password protection system which allows you to provide security to files in a directory that you want to keep secret. This is not a replacement for using .htaccess. .htaccess is still best because it provides server level protection. But this producti will help out those that do not know how to set .htaccess and/or wants more control over access.
