Flash/XML Applet Collection

http://www.tufat.com/flash_xml_applet_collection.htm

All applets are controlled by external XML configuration files, including most interface colors, speeds (in the case of ticker applets), and other effects. These XML files are editable using Textpad (www.textpad.com) or any other good plain text editor. For the gallery and news feed applets, items can be quickly added, removed, and re-ordered simply by changing lines in the XML configuration file, which is loaded externally at run-time. Control the link target and URLs via this file. 100% of the Flash source code (.fla files, .as files) is included, including all True Type font files, where needed. JPG images and MP3 sound files are stored externally to the Flash SWF, and loaded only at run-time. Please note that JPGs must be non-progressive. Other image types, like GIF or PNG, are not allowed.

Flash/XML RSS 2.0 Viewers

http://www.tufat.com/flash_xml_rss_readers.htm

Two of the five applets which are included in this set allow the user to choose from multiple RSS feeds. These RSS feeds can be set in the external XML configuration file. You should use a good text editor, like Textpad (www.textpad.com), to edit the XML files. For the two RSS readers which allow multiple feeds, the selected feed is greyed-out. There is no limit to the number of possible feeds for the combo list. Each feed includes a configuration XML file to control common options like text and background colors. Thus, you can make the RSS reader match your website look (to some extent) without even touching the Flash code. Each XML file includes a DTD file, which can be used to validate your XML syntax. 100% of the Flash source code is included with your purchase, including all .fla and .as files. Flash 2004 Professional is required to edit the Flash source code. These readers require PHP, and the ability to use file-reading and file-writing functions in PHP.

SmileText Component for Flash

http://www.tufat.com/s_smiletext_component.htm

Two "views" are possible: ComboBox view and Button (also called "Palette") view, as shown here. This mirrors the two smile configuration options that are available in FlashChat. Like all Flash components from TUFaT.com, the SmileText component includes 100% of the Flash source code, including ALL .as and .fla files that were used to develop the component, as well as the .mxp and .swc files needed to install and quickly use the component. NEW! Right-to-Left (RTL) text option is available for Hebrew and Arabic speakers, whose text is written in this manner. SmileText may be the only such component that supports this! Advanced, ActionScript-oriented API is available to allow developers fine-tuned configuration over the SmileText object. As shown in the demo and API, options exist to clear the smilie field, remove smilies, set text direction, and set several interface colors. These are all API-oriented (must be done via ActionScript calls), not within the component properties panel. Component is installable using the Macromedia Extension Manager by double-clicking on the appropriate .mxp files.
